As our Minister John Queripel will be back next week, he'd like to welcome us to share in Communion on 9 March at 10am.
John is having an inspiring break with lots of travel around various parts of Asia. He is currently in the Philippines resting and writing in equal measure. As you probably recall, Typhoon Haiyan devastated the islands of Leyte in the Philippines last November. Rev John has visited the area and found it sadly horrendous.
John's time writing has been both tiring and fulfilling. Perhaps, I suggested, like giving birth, it is both exhausting but ultimately an incredible joy. His response? He's not that good with labour sometimes! Well, I hope to see the end result, I'm sure it will be deeply interesting.
In saying that, this Sunday, 2 March will be my last week as lay Minister at Chapel by the Sea. I'll be wearing another of my hats (I have a few, all colourful!) and continuing regular duties working at a consultancy level with the CEO Liana Di Stefano. So, I'll still get to see your lovely faces and say hello.
I feel so blessed that I've had the opportunity to serve you as Minister. You are an incredible congregation. I've learnt about your own stories and lifestyles. All making up a huge part of our worship community. The joy I feel, while holding service, listening to you sing, passing of peace, the supernatural connection we feel as we pray, is fundamentally profound. And the 3pm service always impresses me beyond words. What an amazing group of people. I feel humble to be a part of the worship experience.
I want to give a big thanks for being so accepting during my ministry here.
May the peace of Christ be with you always.
