Iluka Childcare Centre has been established for over 35 years and has been accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council with a High Quality Rating. The Centre provides education and care for children aged 3 months to 5 years of age. Care is available 1-5 days a week and we open for 50 weeks of the year from 7:30am – 6:00pm. Childcare Benefit and Childcare Rebate are available. Learning Environment At Iluka, your child will feel a true sense of belonging as they explore their identity, interests and skills within a safe, secure and respectful environment, rich with learning opportunities. The competence and experience of our qualified and skilful team ensure you child’s individual needs are met and their full potential realised. The children are grouped with others of a similar age and the learning environment is specifically designed for their developmental needs. Each day the children can enjoy a range of activities which are fun, interesting, creative, challenging and educational. The staff plan these activities to promote physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Indoor activities at the Centre include: painting, craft, dramatic play, puzzles, manipulative toys, dough, construction, board games, cooking, carpentry and much, much more. Outdoors, children can play safely in our well-shaded, impact-surfaced playgrounds. Indeed we have two playgrounds – one for the younger children and one for the older children. Outdoor activities include: jumping boards, climbing frames, balance beams, tunnels, barrels, sand play, water play, ladders, ball games and gardening. All activities at Iluka are balanced with Group Time – a quiet, more structured time for stories, picture talks, songs, finger plays, drama, singing, games, musical instruments and movement. And after a busy morning of learning through fun and play a nutritious lunch provided by the Centre. Individual dietary requirements can be catered for. A comprehensive school readiness program is also offered to equip children with the necessary skills to successfully adapt to school life. Special visitors throughout the year stimulate further interests in the children – musicians, puppeteers, storytellers, performers from various cultural backgrounds, science programs, farm animals and wildlife. The Centre has access to Speech Therapists, Paediatricians, Counsellors and Cultural Workers, to assist families and children with additional needs. |
